Identities and Places
THE ORANGE BLOSSOM VEIL
This book I wrote and illustrated is about the experience of exodus and the complex emotions that arise from it. Through intaglio and relief printmaking techniques, I seek to convey the feelings of displacement, loss, and hope that people go through when they are forced to leave their homes and seek refuge elsewhere.
This work also extends an invitation to reflect on the fracture between personal and societal identity, using the theme of exodus to highlight the tensions that can arise between individual and collective identities during times of upheaval.
This book was made in the context of my final year of studies, as my final major project.
